SME/NHS Sustainability: digital, material and net zero roundtable
This event will discuss digital and pathway sustainability as-well as ‘traditional’ methods of sustainability.
Date and time: Thu, 8 December 2022, 13:00 – 16:00 GMT
Location: Citylabs 1.0 Nelson Street Manchester M13 9NQ
The NHS has set an ambitious target of achieving net zero status by 2045 and our SME’s must play a crucial role in tackling this goal.
The NHS alone accounts for approximately 5% of the UK’s carbon footprint and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through climate change mitigation and adaptation is essential to decreasing health risks for both the environment and our communities.
As such, this event will capture the view from those within the health service industry, discussing digital sustainability and pathway sustainability as-well as ‘traditional’ methods of sustainability.
Healthcare delivery contributes 4.4% of global carbon emissions. Therefore, healthcare systems and their supply chains are both part of the challenge and the solution, having a key role to play in supporting the response to climate change.
Topics will include:
• An introduction to the ABHI & NHS sustainability road map and understanding digital sustainability.
• Insights into material selection and product lifecycles.
• Understanding Carbon footprint, decarbonization and climate change resilience of digital health systems.
There will be a roundtable discussion at the end of the session to discuss challenging questions, posed by the speakers and the opportunity to feedback to the wider group after.
Our event takes place on 8th December 2022 (1pm -4pm)
Please note: This event will be held fully Health Innovation at 3rd Floor, Citylabs 1.0, Nelson St, Manchester, M13 9NQ.
